The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race
10K is an annual tradition that takes place in Atlanta, Georia, on
July
4th.
Applications are
published in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution each year on the third
Sunday of March.
The entry form for 2008 will be published in The Atlanta
Journal-Constitution
newspaper on March 16, 2008.
Out of State/Metro
Atlanta:
Send a #10 size SASE (self addressed stamped envelope) to Peachtree
2008, Atlanta Track Club, P.O. Box 12109, Atlanta, GA 30355. We will
mail you an application in March to coincide with its publication in
The
Atlanta Journal-Constitution newspaper on the third Sunday of March. Metro
Atlanta and immediately surrounding counties should use the application
from the newspaper.
PEACHTREE FILLS UP FAST. The first 45,000 Peachtree
applications
received at the Post Office Boxes are automatically accepted into the
race.
An additional 10,000 entries are selected at random from all remaining
entries at the Post Office Boxes with postmarks through March 31,
2008.
The race is limited to a total of 55,000 entries.

To avoid problems
with
your application, be sure to complete the application clearly and
thoroughly.
You will need to include the following items with you application:
Failure to comply
with
the above requirements results in an untimely delay in processing
your
application, and incurs unwelcome processing fees.
If your
application is
among the 55,000 accepted into the race, your canceled check is
your
confirmation of entry; no other confirmation is supplied. Race number
packets
will be mailed out by first class mail in June; entrants in the race
should
receive their numbers by late June.
If your
application is
not among the 55,000 accepted into the race, your entire
application
(including your uncashed check/entry fee and supporting documentation)
will be mailed back, after the first week of April, to the
return
address indicated on the outside of your envelope.
We wish we could accept every
Peachtree application, but we cannot do that
and,
at the same time, ensure a safe, organized event. To be fair, we cannot
make exceptions to the application procedure.
Please do not
contact
the Atlanta Track Club to check on the status of your application. Your
canceled check is your confirmation of entry. If your application is
not
among the 55,000 accepted into the race, your entire application
(including
your uncashed check/entry fee and supporting documentation) will be
mailed
back, after the first week of April, to the return address
indicated
on the outside of your envelope.
