A family favorite for more than 20 years, the
Peachtree Junior is designed to offer children age 7-12 experience, excitement and prestige of the “big” Peachtree under safe, supervised
conditions and without pressures of competition. The course is
completely inside the boundaries of Piedmont Park, and friendly course
monitors are stationed all around the course to offer guidance and
encouragement. Peachtree Junior is strictly for fun: there are no time
limits, results, or awards, and children are grouped by age. By limiting
the field to 2,500 entrants, we hope to increase the enjoyment for kids
and their parents.

Peachtree Jr. is limited to the first 2,500 entries
or Friday, May 23, 2008, whichever comes first. Paper applications
accepted until 5 p.m. Online applications will be accepted until midnight
on May 26, 2008. There is no
registration on the day of the event.

What to do on event
day:
• Number
pick-up is from 7-8:15 a.m. at the park.
• Please
remember that there is no parking available within the park itself.
Limited on-street parking is available on streets surrounding the park
and also in pay lots in adjacent areas. If you park on a residential
street, please be courteous while passing through on your way to and
from the park. If possible, take MARTA to the Arts Center Station, walk east on
14th Street to Piedmont Park.
• Assembly instructions will be given in the
park; runners will assemble by age group with the 12-year-olds going
first, followed by the 11-year-olds, etc.
• Adults must provide supervision of
child to and from assembly area. |

• Adults
may not run with children; however,
they may cheer the runners
at the start and finish.
• Coca-Cola, PowerAde, fruit and other refreshments
will be provided at the finish area.
• T-shirts and pennants will be awarded to
all FINISHERS at the conclusion of the event.
2008 Peachtree Junior T-shirt Design Contest!
The Atlanta Track Club invites you to
participate!
Open to children 7 through 12
The design of the 2008 Peachtree Jr. T-shirt will be the winner of the
Peachtree Jr. T-shirt Design Contest. This shirt will be earned by the
over 2000 children running the 3k fun run which takes place on Saturday,
May 31, at Piedmont Park.
The Design Contest is open to all children between the ages of 7 and 12
(as of May 31, 2008). The child need not be planning to run Peachtree Jr.
The winning artist will be invited to be on hand at Peachtree Jr. to autograph his/ her design for the runners who earn the shirt.
DESIGN CONTEST GUIDELINES:
1. Designs should be postmarked no later
than May 1, 2008, to:
Peachtree Jr. Design Contest, Atlanta Track Club, P.O.
Box 12109, Atlanta, GA, 30355.
2.
The children participating in
the contest need not be planning to run Peachtree Jr.
3.
We regret we cannot return the
designs owing to the volume of entrants.
T-SHIRT GUIDELINES:
1.
A successful design will
indicate the emotion of what fun it is to run and exercise.
2.
The design is not limited to
running or to human beings.
3.
The artist need not worry about
adding the words Peachtree Jr. or the date, which will be added by the
T-shirt printer.
ENTRY SPECIFICATIONS:

Design should be on 81/2 x 11
paper
2.
All mediums are acceptable
(crayon, chalk, colored pencils, paint, etc)
3.
No clip art
4.
May be designed on a computer
